Southpaw Sports

Game 1: Southpaw Baseball beat Pelham 10-0 to start our season at 1-0. Alex Wageling got the win on the mound allowing one hit over three innings and striking out 6. Ryan Beal paced the offense, going 4 for 4, scoring 3 runs and knocking in two runs. Kris Tonas had 2 hits and led a strong defensive effort for Southpaw as well. In the 3rd inning, third baseman, Tonas started the 'D' on a ground ball to his left when he took two steps, dove and fielded the ball, got up and threw the runner out at first base. Justin Macek had 2 hits and 2 RBI's as well as a nice defensive play on the mound. In the 4th inning he reached high for a one hopper over the mound, picked it, and threw to shortstop, Brian Rivard, who got the lead runner, and fired to first for the inning ending double play. Also in the 4th inning, first baseman, Dante DiStaso made a nice running catch on a foul ball right by the dugout opening to get the first out of the inning. In the 8th inning Jake Glauser (now at shortstop) fielded a ground ball towards the middle and fired a strike to Wageling (second base), who made the pivot and turned the double play, erasing a lead-off single for Pelham. In the first inning, catcher Danny Belleville, set the tone by throwing out a runner trying to steal when he threw a strike down to Tonas at third base. 

We have an optional team practice at Allard every Wednesday evening starting at 6pm.

Our team will be playing fall baseball in the Granite State JV league. This is for kids playing freshman or JV level of baseball. The intent is to develop these players into full-time junior varsity and varsity players next spring.

I will update the schedule, locations, scores, etc. as we go. We have optional practices scheduled for 6pm on Wednesday evenings at Allard Park.

This week we host Pelham on Saturday the 12th. I will update the game time when I have it.
